COLUMN: SHARKS NOTES

WORCESTER - T.J. Fox was one of four Sharks who scored their first career postseason goals last night, and not that many fans saw his.

Fox got Worcester's final goal with 47 seconds left to play, and while he was scoring, Hartford's Devin DiDiomete was trying to rough up Dan DaSilva. The two continued it on the benches, leaning around the glass partition and jawing away, with DiDiomete eventually throwing a couple of lazy punches as time ticked away.

"It wasn't much," DaSilva said with a shrug. "He was just trying to do his job, I guess."

Couture lights the lamp

Logan Couture's goal was his first as a professional.

"A first goal is a first goal," he said, "but scoring one at a key point in the game makes it a little better. It is definitely a memory I'll keep with me."

Couture, Fox, Lukas Kaspar and Kyle McLaren all scored their first Calder Cup goals, although McLaren may have his changed since it deflected off Frazer McLaren on the way past Matt Zaba.

Riley Armstrong had two assists and now has five in four playoff games. Throughout his career, he has been one of those forwards who has more goals than assists, so this is definitely different.

"All during the year," he said, "I kept saying that I couldn't buy an assist. And in the playoffs, I was a little down because I wasn't scoring, but if I'm getting assists, that means someone's scoring, so I'll take that."

Brendan Buckley, who had five points in his first 55 career Calder Cup games, had an assist last night and has three points in the last three games.

Greiss shuts out the Pack

Thomas Greiss made 30 saves in registering his first playoff shutout and was especially sharp in the second period when the Wolf Pack played their best hockey. The last goal he gave up was at 5:01 of the second period in Game 3, so his shutout streak, including overtime, is 116:06.

Six-goal win for second time

The six-goal victory tied a Worcester pro...
