WHAT'S UP

Worcester's own piece of the wilderness can always use a little help from its friends. The staff at Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center and Wildlife Sanctuary welcomes volunteers to put up signs and markers, look for wildlife tracks, pick up branches and fill the bird feeders. "It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded people who care about nature and want to help a worthy cause," says Kristin Steinmetz, a natural history guide. "You can come one time or many times."
