EAST DENNIS John Elliott Mack, 72, of East Dennis died on June 14, after a short battle with Lung Cancer. He was born in Worcester, MA, son of Harold and Louise Elliott Mack. He attended Worcester schools including South High School where he loved playing on the football team. He graduated from Springfield College where he received his BS in Education and a CAGS in Administration. He received a Masters Degree in Counseling from Westfield State College. Between high school and college he was a member of the Coast Guard. Some of his assignments were on the USS Laurel, a buoy tender in Maine, the USS Evergreen, an ice breaker in the North Atlantic and on the USS Courier, the Voice of America ship which was stationed in Rhodes Greece. He had many fond memories of the year and a half he spent in that location.

He married Mary Lou Mack 49 years ago and they have 4 children: William J., husband of Amy Tichnor of Melrose, Sandra L., wife of Thomas McCann of Holliston, Neil A., husband of Darlene Amato of Lynnfield and Paul E., fiancee of Lisa Madrid both of Hermosa Beach, CA. He has 6 grandsons: Andrew E., Jonathan R., Mack Robillard, Benjamin B., Joseph A. and Daniel J.. He also has 2 granddaughters: Jenna and Allison. He has 2 step-grandaughters in Australia: Amelia and Elyse McCann and 2 future step-grandchildren in California: Julia and Jackson. His career in Education started in Chicopee as a teacher. He moved to Springfield where he became a counselor, then to Housemaster at Kosciuszko Junior High in Enfield. His first principalship was at Nathan Hale Elementary School...
