PAXTON - Kathleen (Mahoney) Lockhart, 69, of Holbrook Lane, died peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2012 under the loving care of her family and the staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. Born and raised in Worcester, Kathleen was the daughter of Joseph F. and Arline M. (Molaghan) Mahoney. She lived in Paxton for 36 years and spent her summers on Webster Lake.

Kathleen graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1961 and Worcester State College in 1965. She taught fourth grade at West Tatnuck Elementary School in Worcester for 37 years, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed drama and the performing arts and coordinated the annual musical productions at West Tatnuck Elementary School for many years. It has been said "What a teacher writes on a blackboard of life can never be erased". Kathleen left an indelible mark on the lives of those children whom she inspired throughout her career. Kathleen was also a proud democrat who enjoyed openly discussing and debating politics, current events and social issues pertaining to women's rights.

Her greatest joy in life was spending summers at her home on Webster Lake with her family, including her beloved niece, Brianna and nephew, Ryan. She will be remembered for her compassionate...
