'Pop' stars on parade; Students bottle famous people.

DUDLEY -- If you could ask a famous person such as Tom Brady, Neil Armstrong or Abraham Lincoln one question, what would it be?

Lilly Bateman said she would ask Helen Keller how she made friends; Caza Slauentwhite would ask Mick Jaggar "if he regrets kicking Brian Jones out of his own band.''

These fourth-graders and their classmates at Dudley Elementary School recently completed a biography lesson that brought to life 146 pop bottle characters.

"One by one these characters in history came into school, and the excitement in the classrooms and the presentations were so amazing,'' Principal Terri A. Caffelle said at a recent meeting of the Dudley-Charlton Regional School Committee.

Surrounded by the creative likenesses of famous people such as Steven Spielberg, Stan Lee and Robert E. Lee, one student from each fourth-grade class presented their pop bottle character to the committee.

The six students were asked to name the person they chose to study, give three adjectives that describe the person, and share a question they would ask if that person were in the room with them today.

Abby Vieira studied Neil Armstrong.

Dressed in an orange astronaut suit, Abby said, "Three adjectives I would use to describe him would be short, intelligent and persevering. One question I would ask him would be how thrilled were you when you got to walk on the moon?''
