WORCESTER - Two city men were charged in court yesterday for their alleged involvement in a fight outside a Winter Street bar Sunday.

Jimmy Thoung Vo, 25, of 7 Ellsmere St. and Phi van Le, 23, of 9 Fern St. were charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with intent to cause serious bodily injury. Both men posted $7,500 cash bail after their arraignments in Central District Court.

Police were called to Green Street about 2 a.m. Sunday on a report of a stabbing. Officers were told two men, ages 23 and 24, had been stabbed several times.

Witnesses told police there was a melee outside the Boiler Room Bar at 70 Winter St. The fight ended up at Winter and Green streets.

"One of the males stabbed was attacked by 10 to 15 males, during the fight this male was able to break free and run toward Green Street, as he was running he came upon an ambulance and ran there for safety," police said in a news release. "It was at this time that he realized that he was stabbed five times."

The man had stab wounds on the left side of his head, his left cheek, the right side...
