WESTBORO -- Twenty-seven foursomes recently teed off for the Brain Injury Association of Mass.

The weather did not disappoint at The Haven Country Club in Boylston. Golfers were welcomed by Laura Herman, Golf Classic chairman and CEO of Insurance Marketing Agencies. Ms. Herman has been involved with BIA-MA since its infancy.

"It has truly been an inspiration to see how this organization has grown into the operation that it is today. We are truly on the right path,'' she said.

The players enjoyed a challenging day on the parkland-style golf course and all for a great cause. The event raised $25,000, which goes directly to the BIA-MA mission of support, prevention, education and advocacy.

After the golf game was finished, teams were invited into the clubhouse to enjoy dinner and participate in a silent and live auction featuring Bob Socci, voice of the Patriots with Sports Hub Network, and Logan Mankins, New England football guard. This was Mr. Socci's first auction with BIA-MA, and with the help of Mr. Mankins, raised money on sports tickets and sports memorabilia.

The highlight of the evening was a survivor speaker presentation by Ryan Farrell. Ms. Farrell suffered a TBI in April 2010 during a cheering competition in New York. She had a tough...
