St. John's 9, Doherty 3: Junior Nick Sieber's pinch-hit, two-run single in the seventh inning broke open a one-run game and started a seven-run rally to push the fifth-ranked Pioneers (4-1) past the top-ranked Highlanders (7-1) in Shrewsbury.

Dan Light went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer in the third inning for St. John's, while junior right-hander Mike Badjo struck out seven in his first varsity start.

Adam Goldstein had a two-run homer in the seventh for Doherty, while Will Franco added two hits.

Bartlett 6, Quaboag 3: Lewis Caro went 2 for 3 and Kelly Chisholm had a two-run single during a five-run sixth inning to lead the Indians (1-5) over the visiting Cougars.

Caro came on in relief in the fourth to get the win, fanning four. Quaboag's Jake Thompson went 2 for 3.

Clinton 8, St. Bernard's 7: Joe Rice drove in Nathan Quill with a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh to lift the host Gaels (5-2) past the Bernardians (2-3).

Sophomore Matt McEvilly singled in two runs to spark a four-run rally for Clinton in the third.

Brett Franciosi walked three times and delivered a two-run double as part of a five-run rally in the fifth for St. Bernard's.

Hudson 11, Shepherd Hill 4: Ryan Wardwell went 3 for 3 and capped a five-run first inning with the first of two doubles to help the host Hawks (3-2) win a first-round game in the John Ahearn Memorial Tournament.

Hudson faces Shrewsbury at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the final, while Shepherd Hill faces West Boylston at 11 a.m.

Jake Wardwell went 3 for 4 with two runs and a stolen base for Hudson, while Ryan Bowen struck out seven, walked two and allowed one earned run.

Brian Stearns was 2 for 2 with a run for the Rams (2-3).

Leicester 2, Auburn 0: Senior right-hander Josh May pitched a two-hitter and struck out six while the visiting Wolverines (4-1) rallied for two runs in the seventh to down the Rockets (3-3).

Leicester started the seventh with singles by sophomore Ryan Petrone and Anthony Lombardozzi. Pinch-runner Connor Marc-Aurelle scored on a wild pitch and Bryan LaFlash, who reached on a fielder's choice, scored on a single by senior Ben Millett (two hits).

Ben Libuda allowed one hit and struck out seven in five innings for Auburn.

South 12, Bay Path 4: Eric Stenlund went 2 for 4 and drove in four runs, while Eddie Rios chipped in a three-run double to help the Colonels (2-3) past the Minutemen (3-2) in the Panther Classic at David Prouty.
