Alexander Reid, Jr.

HOLDEN Alexander Reid, Jr., 90, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in St. Mary Health Care in Worcester. His wife, Marion A. (Moir) Reid, died in 1995. He is survived by 2 nieces, Margaret E. Kiniry and Lillian J. Reid and two nephews, Robert A. Reid and Donald V. Reid; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Reid and Robert S. Reid and a niece Bonnie Talbot.

He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, son of Margaret (Scott) and Alexander Reid. In 1928, his family moved to Worcester. He graduated from Boys Trade School. Mr. Reid was a Corporal in the United States Army and served during WWII with Battery C, 551st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. He was as an engineer for Riley Stoker in Worcester for 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church...
