A lot of artists had good years in 2014 -- Pharrell Williams, Taylor Swift, Beyonce "Weird Al'' Yankovic -- but for my money, there was one artist who ruled the year above all others: Prince. After sneak peeks at songs, short-notice tours and a quickly developed social media presence, Prince launched two great albums -- the solo "Art Official Age,'' and "Plectrumelectrum,'' with the band 3RDEYEGIRL. While both albums charted, it was the former that got the lion's share of the attention. Which is a shame, because "Plectrumelectrum'' really shows off the Purple One's rock chops.

Such is the case with the new lyric video for Prince and company's rendition of the Alice Smith soul ballad "Another Love.''

Prince is at his steamy best here -- really, that's kind of his default setting -- but it's really the band who shines here, crunching bass and guitar grinding into one another against Prince's slow-jam vocals, until the tension explodes into a full-on rock solo. The instrumentation distorts...
