WORCESTER -- Business leaders filled Mechanics Hall Thursday morning for an inside look at the health insurance industry and words of praise for a handful of businesses and individuals.

Andrew Dreyfus, president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, was the keynote speaker at The Breakfast Club meeting of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Dreyfus outlined the challenges facing the health industry, notably the need to focus on preventive care and the benefit of rewarding health workers whose successful treatments cut down on the need for medical care.

Incentives are needed for hospitals to decrease the length of stays, Mr. Dreyfus said.

The two-hour event included the familiar musings of Troy Siebels, executive director of The Hanover Theatre for Performing Arts.
