WORCESTER -- Thomas L. Rose recently joined Commerce Bank as senior vice president and managing director, commercial lending -- Worcester. In his new position, Mr. Rose will oversee Commerce Bank's commercial lending team in Worcester.

Mr. Rose has more than 30 years of commercial banking experience in numerous capacities, most recently as senior vice president and senior client manager at Bank of America. He received a bachelor of science degree in finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.

WORCESTER -- The board of The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts recently elected three new directors: Sarika Aggarwal, M.D., senior vice president and chief medical officer at Fallon Community Health Plan; Jean G. McMurray, executive director of the Worcester County Food Bank; and Gisela Velez, M.D., M.P.H., an ophthalmologist with offices in Ayer and Worcester.

The board also elected these officers and members of the executive committee: John P. Gusha, D.M.D., as chairman; Michael J. Mutchler, M.D., as vice chairman; Ann K. Tripp, M.B.A., as treasurer; Lynda M. Young, M.D. as secretary; and Luis G. Perez, J.D.

Others who continue to serve on the board of directors are: David N. Grenier; Jay S. Himmelstein, M.D., M.P.H.; Jennifer J. Hylton, Psy.D.; Deborah L. Plummer, Ph.D.; Francis M. Saba, M.H.S.A.; and Barent W. Walsh, Ph.D.

The foundation was established in 1999 with the proceeds from the sale of Central Massachusetts Health Care Inc., a physician-initiated, not-for-profit HMO.

The foundation currently has assets of approximately $70 million and has awarded grants totaling approximately $30 million.

SPENCER -- SpencerBANK is proud to announce the hiring of John T. Lund as senior vice president/revenue officer. SpencerBANK is an independent, mutual savings bank with six locations in Central Massachusetts and a full range of deposit and loan products for both personal and commercial customers.

Mr. Lund will work closely with the bank's executive officers to enhance SpencerBANK's profitability, revenue growth, and risk management.

Mr. Lund's experience spans nearly 22 years in the banking industry, starting in 1993 with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Hartford, Connecticut.

A graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Lund currently resides in Stafford Springs, Conn. He is a member of the chambers of Tolland County (Conn.) and Worcester County.
