Charles L. McGann Sr.

BRIMFIELD - Charles "Charlie" L. McGann Sr., 85, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Brimfield, MA, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in Leesburg of cancer. Charlie was born in Uniontown, KY, on November 22, 1927 to William and Willie Anne (Herrick) McGann. Charlie joined the US Army Air Corps and was stationed at Westover AFB in Chicopee, where he met his future wife, Jean Hamilton. Married in 1948, they settled in Brimfield where Charlie was a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a town police officer for many years. He retired from The American Optical Corporation as a machine designer, and after Jean's death in October 2000, he moved to Florida where he was a member of the American Legion (Fruitland Park), The Knights of Columbus, and the Loyal Order of the Moose...
