For the past two years, Skelly has come through big time when all of Central Mass. was watching. He successfully defended his CMass Division 1 championship on Nov. 8 for coach Suzanne Williams' Patriots, posting a 13-second victory over Wachusett's Grant Hauver at Gardner Municipal GC. He won in 14:55 over the 2.9-mile course, the best time over either division, and as a two-time champion is definitely worthy of being named Hometeam Runner of the Year. At the All-State Meet the following week at Franklin Park in Boston, Skelly placed 37th in 16:33 over 3.1 miles, completing an impressive three-year high school cross-country career in which he was twice named to the T&G Super Team.
