OPENING THE TOP OF WACHUSETT DAM: for the public to walk across on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. The Department of Conservation and Recreation Watershed Rangers will be on hand to answer questions and to provide other information on DCR's watershed protection program. WINNIPESAUKEE SCENIC RAILROAD TRIP: on Saturday, Oct. 26. The cost per person is $75 and includes driver's gratuity. The group departs at 8:30 a.m., and returns to the station at 2:30 p.m., with a final stop at the Christmas Tree Shop on the way home.
