'WILL MEETS SKILLS' BASKETBALL ACADEMY: runs Sundays, through Nov. 3, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $100. This program is presented by Clinton Youth Basketball and is for boys and girls in grades 7 and up who are serious about improving their skills and already have intermediate skills. BREAST INTENTIONS SPIN-A-THON: on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Ciccone Fitness, in front of the gym, weather permitting (otherwise in the fitness room). All the money raised is going to Breast Intentions. The cost for anyone (no gym membership is required) is $10 per half hour of spinning. Anyone can spin as long or as short as he or she wants. The four spin instructors, Claire McNamara, Julie Bates, Jackie McCrillis, and Saundra Merrill will be taking shifts teaching.

FLANNERY O'CONNOR READING GROUP: meets Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Clinton library. Assignment will include finishing discussion on "The Heart of the Park'' and covering "A Stroke of Good Fortune'' and "Enoch and the Gorilla.'' Discussion also begins on which stories will be discussed in the new year. Suggestions so far include short stories of Anton Chekhov or 2013 Nobel Literary Prize Winner Alice Munro and Irish story teller John McGahern, but no final decision has been reached.
