BOYS' HOCKEY

Nashoba 2, Worcester 1: Sophomore defenseman Brad Colvin scored a goal and 1:27 later made a fine pass from behind his own net to set up junior right wing Kevin Gilchrest at center ice for a breakaway goal, staking the visiting Chieftains (3-2-2) to a 2-0 lead with 8 seconds left in the second period.

Cameron Beischel scored for the Wildcats (6-2-2).

Grafton 3, Northbridge 2: Senior Ryan Lorden scored on the power play with 3:46 left in the second period to break a 2-2 tie for the host Indians (2-3-2) at Buffone Rink.

Grafton senior Taylor Shannon had two assists.

Brett Bibeault and Mike Ferraro had goals for the Rams (3-4-1).

Lunenburg 6, St. Bernard's 0: Dan Baldino (two goals, four assists) and Tom Wagner (goal, five assists) had a hand in every goal as the Blue Knights (6-0-1) blanked the Bernardians (0-7) at Wallace Civic Center in Fitchburg.

Jeff Kerr scored twice and had two assists and Kevin Cowdrey scored. Alec McNamara stopped 45 shots in the shutout.

St. John's 5, Xavier 1: Senior defenseman Bryan Nelson, junior right wing Patrick Storer and senior left wing Kevin Butler each had a goal and assist to lift the Pioneers (6-2-1) in Middletown, Conn.

St. Peter-Marian 4, Marian 3: Senior defenseman Daniel Blute's second goal of game with 3:28 left won it for the host Guardians (3-7) at the New England Sports Center.

Senior left wing C.J. Boilard had a goal and an assist, and eighth-grader Nick Palmero chipped in two assists for SPM, which led, 3-1, until Paul Walter's two third-period goals tied it for the Mustanges (4-6).

Wachusett 4, Longmeadow 1: Senior captain Marc Happy had three assists, and junior Matt Cappucci had a goal and assist for the No. 2 Mountaineers (6-0-2), who did all their scoring in the second period.

Matt Pierson scored late in the game for the Lancers.

Worcester Academy 4, Kingswood-Oxford 2: Senior forward Michael Cusato had two goals and an assist, and postgraduate Jordan Davis had 31 saves in a home win for the Hilltoppers (2-9).

Junior forward Aaron Kline assisted on both Cusato goals.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Leominster 59, North Middlesex 46: Senior guard Tanner Jakola hit two big 3-pointers down the stretch to finish with 19 points, and classmate Jake Allain, also a guard, was 10 of 12 from the line while scoring 15 points to boost the No. 8 Blue Devils (7-2, 3-0 Midland A) at home.

Tyler Thomas paced the Patriots (3-6, 0-3) with 10 points.
