MENDON - The Mendon-Upton Regional School Committee last night recertified the $28.7 million budget that it initially approved in March, essentially asking Mendon to reconsider its failed Proposition 2-1/2 override.

The School Committee's unanimous vote came after Superintendent Tony Fernandes outlined staff reductions of 38 teachers and the elimination of several high school programs, including advanced placement and honors courses, that would occur unless Mendon reconsiders.
