Judge John S. McCann
Walton Valentin, 25, of Methuen, was charged with trafficking in cocaine. The charge was nol prossed. A nol pros, or nolle prosequi is a court filing reflecting a prosecutor's decision not to proceed with a criminal case after charges have been brought.

Kaheim R. Shavies, 21, of 120 Southgate St., Worcester, was sentenced to three concurrent terms of two and a half years to two and a half years and a day in Walpole state prison after pleading guilty to possession of a class C substance with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of a sawed-off shotgun. The sentences are to run forthwith and not withstanding any other sentences now being served. He was sentenced to two concurrent terms of one year in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to two counts of defacing the serial number on a firearm. He was placed on four concurrent terms of one year of probation, to begin upon his release, after pleading guilty to possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, distribution of a class E substance, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Brian D. Ferguson, 25, of 15 Oread St., Worcester, was sentenced to three concurrent terms of three to four years in Walpole state prison after pleading guilty to three counts of armed robbery (knife). The sentences are to run forthwith and not withstanding any other sentences now being served. He was placed on probation for two years, to begin upon his release, after pleading guilty to armed assault with intent to rob (knife). As conditions of probation, he was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations with any related treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department and to submit to random drug tests.

Shays, 36, of 701 Main St., Worcester, charged with driving with a revoked license for being a habitual traffic offender and resisting arrest, sentenced to two concurrent terms of 18 months in the House of Correction; possession of cocaine, sentenced to a concurrent term of one year in the House of Correction; failing to stop for police, filed with a guilty finding; and vehicle lights violation, found responsible, filed.

Giovanni E. Tropeano, 27, of 67 Quinsigamond Ave., Shrewsbury, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or .08 percent, found not guilty; and having a nontransparent or obstructed window, found responsible, fined $250.
