Ian Dobson, 21, of 210 Mt. Elam Road, Fitchburg, sentenced to three concurrent terms of 2-1/2 years in the House of Correction , with 6 months to be served, after pleading guilty to three counts of assault and battery. The balance of the sentence was suspended for 3 years with probation. He was placed on three concurrent terms of 3 years' probation, to begin upon his release, after pleading guilty to three counts of armed robbery (knife). As conditions of probation, he was ordered to complete 300 hours of community service; to undergo drug, alcohol, and mental health evaluations with any related treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to have no contact with the victim, to seek employment or continue education, and to pay $83 restitution a month.

Daniel Robles, 24, of Haverhill, sentenced to 58 days in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to possession of a Class C substance. He was placed on two concurrent terms of 2 years' probation, to begin upon his release, after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine, amended from trafficking in cocaine, and possession of marijuana. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations with any related treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to submit to random drug tests, and to complete community service.

Luis Torres, 36, of 50 Catharine St., Worcester, charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a firearm with ammunition, and two counts of firearm violation with three prior violent or drug crimes. The charges were nolle prossed. A "nol pros," or "nolle prosequi" is a court filing reflecting a prosecutor's decision not to proceed with a criminal case after charges have been brought.

Edgardo R. Hernandez, 47, of Shirley, sentenced to three concurrent terms of 6 to 8 years in Walpole State Prison after pleading guilty to armed assault with intent to murder (knife) and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife). The sentences are to run concurrent with any other sentences now being served. A charge of assault and battery on a correctional officer was filed after a guilty plea.
