Elvin Gonzalez, 49, of the Worcester County Jail and House of Correction, West Boylston, was sentenced to three concurrent terms of 3 to 4 years in Walpole state prison after pleading guilty to possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without a Firearm ID Card, amended from firearm violation with two prior violent or drug crimes, and possession of ammunition without a Firearm ID Card, amended from firearm violation with two prior violent or drug crimes. A charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute was dismissed.

April S. White, 26, of 513 Cambridge St., Worcester, charged with reckless assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), amended from assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), sentenced to 6 months in the House of Correction; and giving a false name or Social Security number to police, dismissed.

Judge Austin T. Philbin

Angel L. Hernandez, 26, of 11 Gibbs St., Worcester, charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot), a motion for a required finding of not guilty was allowed.

Luis Pearson, 27, of Wales, charged with assault and battery, sentenced to 2 years in the House of Correction, with 6 months to be served, to begin upon his release from another sentence now being served, balance suspended for 2 years, ordered to have no contact with the victim and to attend a batterer's program.

Juan A. Lopez, 40, of 20 Grand St., Worcester, charged with assault and battery, sentenced to 90 days in the House of Correction, suspended for 1 year, ordered to remain drug- and alcohol-free, to submit to random drug tests, to comply with visitation order, and no abuse of victim, $50 victim witness fee.

Ren Zhu, 37, of 22 Morgan Drive, North Grafton, charged with leaving an accident scene after personal injury, dismissed without prejudice.

Karen Kichar, 43, of 35 Whitcomb St., Webster, charged with driving with a suspended license, amended from driving with a suspended license for driving under the influence of alcohol, placed on probation for 6 months, $50 victim witness fee.

Edwaldo Vazquez, 26, of 40 Belmont St., Worcester, charged with assault and battery, continued without a plea or finding and placed on pretrial probation for 3 months, ordered to have no contact with the victim.

James R. Niewiera, 43, of 10 Southwick Road, Sutton, charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (boot), continued to June 30 on $1,000 cash bail; assault and battery and breaking and entering into a building in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, continued to June 30 on $1,000 cash bail.

Shannon L. Bushey, 30, of 25 Brooks Village Road, Templeton, charged with sexual conduct for a fee, sentenced to 6 months in the House of Correction, concurrent with another sentence now being served.

Howard Quarshie, 51, of 44 Gage St., Worcester, charged with assault and battery, continued to July 20.

Terrance W. Brown, 51, of 100 Endicott St., Worcester, charged with driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense), driving an unregistered vehicle, license plate violation to conceal ID, possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, and having no inspection sticker on a vehicle, continued to July 21.

Phuong Thanh Lam, 29, of 167 Grand St., Worcester, charged with driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense) and refusing to identify himself to police, continued to July 16.

Ricardo Harris, 18, of 28 Blake St., Westboro, charged with driving recklessly, speeding and disturbing the peace, continued to June 26.

Alexander Dejarnette, 57, of 4 Crown St., Worcester, charged with possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and carrying a dangerous weapon (knife), continued to July 16.
