Jake Edward Gilchrist, of 100 Clark Road, Spencer, was sentenced to 2 years in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon (baseball bat). He was placed on three concurrent terms of 5 years probation, to begin upon his release, after pleading guilty to armed and masked robbery (baseball bat), assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (baseball bat). As conditions of probation, he was ordered to have no direct or indirect contact with and to stay away from the victim, to remain drug- and alcohol-free, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to submit to random drug tests, and to pay $150 legal counsel fee, $90 victim witness fee, $65 probation fee. A charge of breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony was dismissed.

Michael Cole, 23, of 59 Iroquois St., Worcester, was placed on two concurrent terms of 2 years probation after pleading guilty to receiving a stolen vehicle and receiving stolen property under $250. He was placed on a concurrent term of 2 years probation after a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute was continued without a finding. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to remain drug-free, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to submit to random drug tests, and to pay $150 legal counsel fee, $150 drug assessment fee, $90 victim witness fee, $65 probation fee. Charges of carrying a firearm with ammunition, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm without a firearm identification card, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, carrying a dangerous weapon (firearm), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting arrest were dismissed.
