Natnale T. Girmay, of 4 State St., Leominster, was sentenced to 21/2 years in the House of Correction, with 6 months to be served, after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol (second offense). The balance of the sentence was suspended for 3 years with probation. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to remain drug- and alcohol-free, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, and to pay $250 head injury fee, $150 legal counsel fee, $65 monthly probation fee, $50 victim witness fee, $50 driving under the influence fee. He was sentenced to a concurrent term of 60 days in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to driving with a suspended license for driving under the influence of alcohol. Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving negligently were dismissed at the request of the commonwealth.

Maria Ortiz, 52, of 70 West St., Worcester, was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 21/2 years in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, amended from trafficking in cocaine, and conspiracy to violate a drug law. The sentence was suspended for 5 years with probation. As conditions of probation, she was ordered to remain drug- and alcohol-free, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to submit to random drug tests, to attend the AdCare outpatient treatment program, and to pay a $65 probation fee. A charge of drug violation near a school or park was dismissed.

Lemuel Aponte-Ramos, 31, of 18 Hillside St., Worcester, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in Walpole state prison after pleading guilty to possession of heroin with intent to distribute. The charge was amended from trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium.

Jeffrey Beaumont, 39, of 19 Maple St., Whitinsville, was sentenced to 1 year to 1 year and 4 months in Walpole state prison after pleading guilty to open and gross lewdness. He was ordered to register as a sex offender.

Michael C. Smith, 49, of 239 Cambridge St., Worcester, charged with five counts of unarmed robbery and armed robbery (handgun), continued to Dec. 3 on $60,000 cash bail; disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct, continued to Dec. 3.

Toby Carrero, 22, of 91 Southgate St., Worcester, charged with driving without a license, found responsible, fined $500 or ordered to complete 50 hours of community service.
