Emma Taylor, 43, of 21 Oread St., Worcester, was sentenced to 21/2 years in the House of Correction, with 6 months to be served, after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. The balance of the sentence was suspended for 2 years with probation. As conditions of probation, she was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department and to register as a sex offender.

Cody Torres, 23, of 11 Riverview Road, Sterling, was sentenced to 2 years in the House of Correction, with 202 days to be served, after pleading guilty to misleading a police officer. The balance of the sentence was suspended for 2 years with probation. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to remain drug free, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to submit to random drug tests, and to pay $90 victim witness fee, $65 probation fee.

Shawn Clayton, 32, of 23 Vernon St., Worcester, was sentenced to 2 to 2 1/2 years in Walpole State Prison after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. The charge was amended from possession of cocaine with intent to distribute (subsequent offense). A charge of drug violation near a school or park was dismissed.

Mark Tarasiak, 40, of 80 Perry Ave., Worcester, was sentenced to 4 to 5 years in Walpole State Prison after pleading guilty to indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over. The charge was amended from rape and abuse of a child aggravated by age difference. He was placed on four concurrent terms of 3 years probation, to begin upon his release, after pleading guilty to indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over, selling or delivering alcohol to a minor, breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, and possession of burglary tools. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to remain alcohol free, to undergo substance abuse and sex offender evaluations with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to submit to random drug tests, to stay away and have no contact with the victim, to have no unsupervised contact with children under 16, to register as a sex offender, and to pay $65 monthly probation fee. A charge of larceny from a building was dismissed.

Brandon J. Adams, 23, of 32 Lodge St., Worcester, was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 21/2 to 3 years in Walpole State Prison after pleading guilty to armed robbery and attempting to commit a crime. He was placed on probation for 2 years, to begin upon his release, after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to remain drug-and alcohol-free, to undergo substance abuse and mental health evaluations with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, to submit to random drug tests, to stay away and have no contact with the victims, and to pay $150 legal counsel fee, $90 victim witness fee, $65 probation fee.

Murphy, 34, of 20 Svea St., Worcester, charged with vandalizing property, placed on probation for 1 year, ordered to remain alcohol free, to submit to random drug tests, and to pay $750 restitution; vandalizing property, placed on probation for 3 months, ordered to pay $225 restitution; and attempting to commit a crime (breaking and entering), dismissed.

Eric Phelan, 22, of 18 Whitmarsh Ave., Worcester, charged with trespassing, amended from breaking and entering with intent to commit a misdemeanor, found responsible, fined $50, remitted.
