Delaware highlights Crusaders' schedule.

Byline: Jennifer Toland WORCESTER - Holy Cross announced its 2005 football schedule yesterday, and highlighting the 11-game slate are games against defending Ivy League champion Harvard and 2003 Division 1-AA national champion Delaware. "This is going to be a very competitive schedule for our team," said Tom Gilmore, who'll enter his second year as HC coach. "It's definitely an upgrade from last year, in particular with Delaware, a perennial 1-AA power." Holy Cross opens the season Sept. 3 against Sacred Heart at Fitton Field. In the second of three straight home games to start the year, the Crusaders play Patriot League foe Georgetown Sept. 17. Harvard, which went 10-0 last year, is at HC Sept. 17. Other home games include Dartmouth Oct. 15, Colgate Oct. 22 and Lafayette, last year's co-Patriot League champion, Nov. 12. The Crusaders are at Delaware Sept. 24. The Blue Hens were 9-4 last year and advanced to the quarterfinals of the 1-AA playoffs.
