WEST HARWICH Everett Hamill Keyes Jr., 88, of West Harwich, died peacefully on Jan. 12, 2009, surrounded by his family.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Hulda I. (Frost) and Everett H. Keyes Sr. Everett, who was known as "Buster," owned and operated Keyes Appliance in Worcester for many years before moving to Cape Cod. He ran Real Estate Unlimited for 25 years before he retired last fall.

Everett was an MP in the Marine Corps, and served in Guam with the Third Marine Division during World War II.

His genuine love of people and knack for making friends served him well in business and in life. His annual Memorial Day weekend yard sales were legendary. He was a "hail fellow well met" in the best sense of the phrase.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Stella and her husband, Richard, of Scituate, Roberta Reeves, wife of the late Albert Reeves, of Hyannis, Kimberley Keyes and her husband, Austin Anderson, of Weymouth...
