4 charged with robbing pizza delivery driver

WORCESTER - Three men and a juvenile were arrested yesterday morning for allegedly robbing a pizza driver at gunpoint on Loring Street.

Police were called to Loring Street around 12:15 a.m. to investigate an armed robbery report. A driver for Papa John's Pizza was making a delivery when a group of men set upon him. One of them allegedly held a gun at the driver while the others stole pizzas, money and beverages from the driver, police said.

Officers were given a description of the men and found a car with four men inside, all matching the description of the robbers. The men were in a car on Gifford Street when police pulled it over.

"There was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the interior of the motor vehicle," police said. "The males were in possession of marijuana and a digital scale. All four individuals were removed from the vehicle and then placed under arrest."

Those arrested were: Robert Hill, 21, of 69 Tower St., Worcester, charged with armed robbery and marijuana possession with intent to distribute; David Bonefont, 20, of 2 Boardman St., Apt.1, Worcester, charged with armed robbery and marijuana possession with intent to distribute; Nicholas Remillard, 18, of 97 Boyd St., Worcester, charged with armed robbery and marijuana possession with intent to distribute; and a juvenile male, charged with armed robbery and marijuana possession with intent to distribute.

Winchendon

Police say man forced car off road, waved gun

GARDNER - A Winchendon man is facing charges that he forced a car containing his ex-girlfriend off the road and later, while she was at the police station, tried to force the same car off the road and menaced the driver with a handgun.

Wade A. Wagner, 42, of 35 Beech St., Winchendon was arraigned Tuesday in Winchendon District Court on two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (a car) and assault with a dangerous weapon (a firearm).

Mr. Wagner was arrested Saturday afternoon by Winchendon police. His ex-girlfriend reported that she and a man were looking to buy coffee late Friday night when Mr. Wagner saw them near the Cumberland Farms store on Pleasant Street in Winchendon, did a U-turn and pursued them on Pleasant Street.

After they tried to evade him by driving through the Athol Savings Bank parking lot, he allegedly pursued them farther on Pleasant Street, running them off the road onto the front lawn of Fletcher Funeral Home...
