Millbury woman killed, Dudley man hurt in crash

NASHUA, N.H. - A Millbury woman was killed and a Dudley man injured when their vehicle crashed into a tree in Nashua Saturday night.

Police said the victim was a 55-year-old Millbury, Mass., woman but did not release her name. She died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, the Associated Press reported.

The 47-year-old male driver, from Dudley, Mass., was taken first to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, then to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to news reports. He is in critical condition.

The crash occurred near Searles Road and Middle Dunstable Road. Deputy Fire Chief Mike O'Brien said the road was icy at the time of the crash, the Nashua Telegraph reported.

Four men attack delivery driver

WORCESTER - A delivery driver was injured yesterday morning near Chandler and Mason streets when four men blocked his car and attacked him, according to police.

The 52-year-old driver for Wings over Worcester said he was at the intersection about 2:15 a.m. when the four men blocked his car. The driver grabbed a baseball bat and confronted the four men, according to police.

The four men took the bat from the driver and one of them allegedly struck him in the head with the bat. The men took the driver's Toyota Yaris along with the food inside, police said.

The driver was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus with head injuries that were not life-threatening. Detectives collected evidence from the scene and police searched the area for the car and suspects. The incident remains under investigation.
