BOSTON -- Boston Bruins defenseman Jonathan Girard, seriously injured in a car crash last month, may be discharged from a Montreal hospital in a week, his agent said yesterday. Girard may be transferred to another facility to continue his recovery from a broken pelvis, said his agent, Bob Sauve. Girard, 23, was at the wheel of a car that lost control and flipped near his home town of Rawdon, Quebec, July 24. He was trapped upside down for 45 minutes before rescue workers could free him. Two other passengers were not seriously injured. Girard has been treated at Hospital du Sacre Coeur in Montreal, where he had surgery a few days after the accident to mend his pelvis and drain fluid from his lungs.
