'Hawks, Pappas slam spinning Tornadoes.

AUGUSTA, N.J. - Light-hitting shortstop Mark Pappas went 2 for 3 with six RBIs and scored two runs to lead the Sussex Skyhawks to a 9-5 win over the last-place Worcester Tornadoes yesterday afternoon at Skylands Park.

Pappas' grand slam in the first inning - his first homer of the season - gave the Skyhawks a 6-3 lead.

Mike Schellinger (3-2) gave up four runs on 10 hits over five innings to pick up the win for Sussex. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Sandy Nin pitched to the final batter with the bases loaded to earn his fourth save of the season.

Matt Weagle (1-4) gave up seven runs in three innings to take the loss for Worcester.
