BARRE - The Quabbin Regional School District School Committee unanimously approved the appropriation of $4 million for making "extraordinary repairs" to the district's middle/high school, as well as continuing its agreement to share its superintendent.

During Thursday night's meeting, Plant and Facilities Subcommittee Chairman Ned Kelly explained the $4 million project will repair and/or replace the atrium skylight and metal panel system at the Quabbin Regional Middle/High School located at 800 South St. The completion of interim repairs estimated at $5,000-$25,000 are slated for the summer months.

Superintendent Maureen M. Marshall said the selectmen and Finance Committees of the Quabbin towns will be asked to place an article on the annual town meeting warrants that would affirm the school committee's vote to incur debt for the project and fund it by a debt exclusion.
