James P. Nugent, 23.

QUINCY James P. Nugent, age 23, of Worcester, passed away July 9th, 2011 at his new apartment in Quincy.

He leaves his loving parents, Roger P. Nugent, Jr., and Dawn P. (McGrath) Nugent; his adoring sisters, Sarah E. Nugent and Emily J. Nugent. He is also survived by his grandfathers, R. Paul Nugent and Paul F. McGrath, both of Worcester; his uncle and aunt, Thomas and Grace Nugent, and their children, Valerie and Kerri of Charlton; his uncles Dennis P. McGrath of New York and David P. McGrath of Worcester; his great-aunts and uncles, Maureen Lambert of Holden, John Biddle of Worcester, Patricia and Alfred Sacco of Worcester, and Walter James Nugent and Jane Lantz of Worcester.

He also leaves his adoring Godparents, Mark and Jayne Kackley of Charlton. He was predeceased by both of his grandmothers, Doris T. Nugent and Theresa "Betty" McGrath.

He attended Flagg Street School, Forest Grove Middle School, St. John's High School and graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in 2006. James made and maintained deep and lasting friendships with classmates from these schools. He later attended Worcester State College. At the time of his death, he was employed by Quirk Motors in Quincy, MA.

His family would like to thank the management and staff of Quirk Motors for providing him an employment opportunity while he worked on his sobriety.

James was a talented athlete playing for Jesse Burkett Little League and West Side Baseball as well as Doherty football and baseball. His love of wiffle ball began with the JCC Wiffle Ball League. He quickly...
