Freshman Katherine Medeiros, who played a role in seven record-setting performances - four individual races, three relays - in last week's swim meet, was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week.

Senior forward Rajai Leggett averaged 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds to lead the men's team to a 2-1 week.

Fitchburg State

Senior Matt Muolo was named MASCAC Indoor Male Field Athlete of the Week. Muolo qualified for the New England Division 3, ECAC and All-New England championships with his second-place performance in the weight throw at the Northeastern Invitational. ... Sophomore forward Amy Fahey earned her third straight MASCAC Player of the Week honor. Fahey averaged 26.3 points and 9 rebounds as the Falcons went 3-0.

Holy Cross

Freshman Matt Ginn was named Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week. Ginn went 2-0 against Canisius and posted his first career shutout. ... Freshman point guard Justin Burrell was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week. Burrell averaged 14 points and 4 assists in a 1-1 week. In a 62-57 win over UNH, Burrell made eight straight free throws over the final three minutes. ... Football coach Tom Gilmore is one of five finalists from the FCS for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award. Towson's Rob Ambrose, Montana State's Rob Ash, Appalachian State's Jerry Moore and North Dakota's Chris Mussman are the other finalists. The winner will be announced Jan. 9. Gilmore guided the Crusaders to a 6-5 record, including 4-2 in the Patriot League. HC finished with a winning record for the seventh year in a row.
