Jeremiah E. Greene, Jr.LEOMINSTER - Jeremiah Evarts Greene, Jr. 75 died at home on Thursday, March 6, 2014, after a prolonged illness. He was born on January 22, 1939 in Boston, MA to the late Alice (Durant) Greene and Dr. Jeremiah Evarts Greene, Sr. He was the oldest of five.He is survived by his wife Elaine (Gianopoulos) Greene, two sons Anthony J. Greene of Brooklyn, NY, Edward J. Greene of Leominster, MA, a daughter Meredith (Peter) Ross of NY, NY, two grandsons, Leo G. Ross and Isaac L. Ross of NY, NY, a sister Mary B. Greene of Dorchester, MA and many nieces and nephews.He is also survived by four brothers-in-law, John McCauley of Vestal, NY, Robert Lockwood of Florida, George A. Gianopoulos of Marlborough, CT, Peter Daly of Dorchester, MA and two sisters-in-law, Marion Diener of Dorchester, MA and Jean L. Gianopoulos of Hartford, CT. Jerry was predeceased by a daughter, Anne, one brother, Roger Sherman Greene and twin sisters, Alice McCauley and Katherine Lockwood.He was educated at St. Sebastian's School in Needham, MA, received a BA in Philosophy from Maryknoll College in Glen Ellen, IL, an MA in Theology from Holy Heart Seminary in Halifax, NS, Canada and an MLS from Simmons College School of Library Science, Boston, MA. He retired from the Fitchburg State College (University) faculty after serving more than twenty years as a reference...
