John W. Meader, 82Northborough, MA/Rainbow City, AL - John William Meader, 82, of Rainbow City, Alabama, formerly of Northborough, Massachusetts, passed away on March 7, 2014. Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Glenn S. and Elizabeth (McDonald) Meader, John graduated from Heidelberg (Germany) High School and received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a member of Theta XI Fraternity.John was pursuing a doctorate degree at MIT when he was selected to join the chemical engineering faculty at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). He served as a professor at WPI for over 32 years, retiring in 1992. He was also a consultant to several local companies.John was a very faithful man and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church at the time of his passing. He was previously a member of the Church of the Nativity in Northborough and the Belmont Street Baptist Church in Worcester.
