Kidnap charges filed; Assault alleged in Sutton field.

SUTTON -- A 56-year-old man from Millbury is alleged to have kidnapped and indecently assaulted a woman in the early hours of Halloween in a remote cornfield on Town Farm Road. Three similar cases have occurred in that same area since June.

Raymond Grenier of 35 Dolan Road, is charged with kidnapping, indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, witness intimidation and trespassing.

Mr. Grenier is being held at the Sutton Police Department on $10,000 cash bail and will be arraigned in Uxbridge District Court Monday morning.

A woman made an emergency call to Sutton police at 1:15 a.m. Friday asking for help. Sutton Police Detective Matthew Bohanan and Officer Bryan Lefebvre responded to 124 Town Farm Road, and discovered a scene that could have easily been scripted for a horror movie: An unoccupied truck was parked in a cornfield, and a screaming woman came running out of the woods from a path adjacent to the truck, pleading for help.

The unidentified 30-year-old woman told police that a man she knew only as "Ray'' had picked her up in the area of Main Street in Worcester and driven her to that lonely section of Sutton, where he assaulted her and held her against her will.

Police searched the woods, and as they awaited the arrival of a tracking dog...
