BOYS' HOCKEY
Hudson 2, Shrewsbury 1: Blake Seymour drove down the right side and scored on a slap shot just under two minutes into the third period to give the No. 1 Hawks (12-1-1, 6-1 Quinn) the win at North Star Youth Forum.
Alex Pantalone scored a short-handed goal to tie the game in the first period for Hudson.
Matt Bodley scored a power-play goal on a pass from David MacDonald to give the host Colonials (6-6, 0-5) an early lead.
Shane Barry made 21 saves for Hudson, while Chris Shelby made 24 for Shrewsbury.
Assabet 5, Milford 4: Senior Patrick Sharron finished his hat trick by scoring the winning goal with just over two minutes left to lift the Aztecs (5-7-1, 3-3 Russell) at New England Sports Center. Brad White, Jared Balzarini and Andrew Wilde each had a goal and an assist for the Scarlet Hawks (7-7-1, 3-4)
Littleton 11, Tyngsboro 4: Senior captain Ryan Castro had five goals and three assists to lead host Littleton (1-12-1) past Tyngsboro (2-12). Jack Landry had two goals and three assists for Littleton, while Joe DeVellis added two goals and David Peterson and Patrick Mealey each had one. Kyle Russell had a hat trick for Tyngsboro.
Lunenburg 3, Northbridge 1: Junior Pat Brennan scored twice at North Star Youth Forum to help the Blue Knights (8-6) record their third straight win. Tom Wagner had a goal and an assist for Lunenburg, while Jake Averka scored for the Rams (9-4).
St. Bernard's 5, Marian 1: The line of Liam O'Brien, Casey Downes and Brandon Ecklund accounted for 12 of the Bernardians' 14 points as they cruised to a home win. O'Brien had two goals and two assists, while Downes and Ecklund each had a goal and three assists. Gage Duteau also scored, while David Flynn made 22 saves.
Worcester 3, Grafton 2: Senior Cody Richotte scored the winner when he knocked in the rebound of a shot from Jake Rosinsky 4:22 into the third period at Buffone Rink to qualify the Wildcats (10-3) for the Division 3A playoffs.
Nick Herlihy and Andrew Thorne also scored for Worcester, while Joe McCarthy made 25 saves. Ben Symes had a goal and assist while Brandon Doyle had a goal for the Indians (6-7-2).
Worcester Academy 5, Hoosac School 5: Matt Mortimer scored twice and added an assist, while Joe Caico had a goal and two assists as the host Hilltoppers (8-11-1) held on for a tie against Hoosac (6-8-1). Matt Brown and Braeden Foote added goals and Chris Hernjhauser had 30 saves for Worcester Academy.
