BASEBALL
Leicester 14, South 13: Senior Nick Wilson (3 for 5, three RBIs) had a sacrifice fly to center to drive in senior Matt Levins with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning and lift the host Wolverines (1-1) past the Colonels (0-1).
Junior Drew Mazzeo was 4 for 5 with four RBIs for Leicester, and senior Ryan Petrone went 3 for 3 with a solo homer.
Senior Chris Echegary was 2 for 3 with three RBIs for South.
Sutton 7, Millbury 6: Senior center fielder Joe Lacasse had a two-run single to cap a seven-run fifth inning for the Sammies, who were the home team in Millbury for their opener.
Junior first baseman Adam Graves had a two-run double and sophomore second baseman Eric Soter an RBI single for Sutton.
First baseman Brian Gasco (2 for 4) had a three-run double in a six-run third for the Woolies (1-1), and second baseman Ben Letiecq went 2 for 3 with a two-run double. Millbury catcher Ryan Ward was 3 for 3.
SOFTBALL
Millbury 17, Sutton 16: Pinch runner Nicole Canas scored on a passed ball with none out in the bottom of the ninth to lift the host Woolies (1-1) at Windle Field in Millbury.
Millbury's Maria DiDomenica had a grand slam and double, while Shannon Latour had three hits and Canas added a pinch-hit, two-run single with one out in the seventh to tie the game. Seventh-grader Gabby Hunt earned her first varsity win for Millbury. Madison Milaszewski had four hits while Julia Rabuffo and Maddie Keigwin each had three for the Suzies (0-1).
St. Peter-Marian 16, Tantasqua 4: Senior Julie Marshall scattered eight hits, allowed two earned runs and struck out six in six innings as the visiting Guardians (1-0) won a mercy-rule shortened game over the Warriors (1-1) in Sturbridge.
Senior Skylar Shugrue went 1 for 2, scored twice and stole four bases, while classmate Beth Wright was 3 for 4 with three runs for St. Peter-Marian.
Kayla DiBiasie was 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Tantasqua, while Jeszy McGuire added two hits.
BOYS' LACROSSE
Milford 15, Marlboro 6: Eric Overdahl had six goals and six assists and Jonathan Dague added four goals to lead the host Scarlet Hawks past the Panthers in the opener for both teams.
BOYS' VOLLEYBALL
North 3, Burncoat 2: Kevin Adjei had 10 kills while Derrek Tran had three kills and five assists as the visiting Polar Bears (1-1, 1-0 Inter-High) rallied to beat the Patriots (0-2, 0-2).
