The Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 11th annual Taste of the Towns food and beverage event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Manor, 42 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Cost is $25 per person. The event, sponsored by Southbridge Savings Bank, is open to the public to give area residents the chance to sample specialties from some of the Wachusett area's finest food establishments.

New this year is a Mini Business Expo and Home Show featuring area businesses. McKinlay's Liquors will host a beer and wine tasting. Tickets may be purchased at the door. To register in advance, call 508-829-9220, visit wachusettareachamber.org or email info@wachusettareachamber.org.

"Play Ball -- How the Bravehearts Compete Off the Field'' is the subject of a talk by Dave Peterson, general manager of the Worcester Bravehearts baseball team, during the next lunch meeting of The Communicators Club at 11:30 a.m. at Peppercorns Grille, 455 Park Ave., Worcester. Mr. Peterson will outline how the Bravehearts team was born, how it plans to grow and what kinds of techniques it will use to stay relevant in the public's eye, especially during a nine-month offseason.

The meeting will include a food drive to benefit Worcester County Food Bank. Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to the meeting. Monetary donations also will be accepted.

Register and prepay online at www.communicatorsclub.org or pay at the door. Walk-in costs $22 for members or students with valid school ID and $30 for nonmembers.

The Women's Information Network will hear from Maura McCaffrey, CEO of Health New England, at its next luncheon meeting, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, conference room, 446 Main St., Suite 200, Worcester.

Cost is $40 per year for chamber members, $80 per year for nonmembers. Non-WIN members pay $10 per meeting. Lunch is provided.
