Along with the 2013 Horseshed Fair at the First Church of Christ Unitarian, in Lancaster, a Civil War re-enactment was held on the Town Green.

Harold Naughton Jr., who hinted at running for lieutenant governor, announced he was exploring a run for attorney general instead.

Roger Hart, retired Lancaster fire chief, was remembered for his "old-school'' dedication, following his death at 85.

A group of people joined together for the annual 5-mile Walk for Hunger in Clinton. The walk was moved from the spring to the fall this year. Proceeds benefit WHEAT Community Services, the Item Appeal, St. Vincent de Paul and the CARE Food Pantry.

Reta Rupich resigned as Bolton representative to the Nashoba Regional School Committee.

School volunteers and staff gathered at Clinton Middle School for the unveiling of a portrait of retired principal Michael Vetros, which will hang in the library.

Trinity Church, Congregational, in Bolton celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The DCR opened the top of the Wachusett dam for residents and visitors to walk across, the second time this year the walkway was opened. Rangers were on hand to answer questions about the structure.

Author Jarrett Krosoczka received the Chandler Reward from the Thayer Memorial Library, in Lancaster.

Cailey Hauver, of Sterling, recently won the title of national champion in Taekwondo at the Taekwondo National Championships, in Chicago.

A pumpkin fling was held at Indian Head Farm, in Berlin, a fundraiser to benefit the Berlin Art and Historical Society's renovations of the Bullard House and renovations of the old Methodist Church into a community center.

It was an overflow crowd in Lancaster when the Mass. Gaming Commission held a public input meeting for the proposed slots casino, in Leominster. The overflow crowd had to be set up in the senior center. The meeting, which included many pros and cons about the Jungle Road project, lasted over three-and-a-half hours.

After many serious Co and even fatal Co crashes, the state finally made changes to Route 12, in Sterling, from the Chocksett Road intersection to the Leominster town line, limiting the road to one lane in each direction to aid with sight distances.
