WORCESTER -- A Worcester man caught in an undercover operation after he allegedly robbed banks in the city over a period of several weeks is being held on $3,000 on each of seven cases.

Prince G. Dennis, 35, of 39 Westminster St., Apt. 1, was arraigned in Central District Court in Worcester on Friday on four counts of armed robbery and three counts of unarmed robbery. Judge David Ricciardone ordered he be held in lieu of a total of $21,000 cash bail and said that if Mr. Dennis is released, he must be confined to his home, wear a GPS monitor, undergo drug and alcohol testing and refrain from using those substances and surrender his passport and any firearms or related licenses.

Some of the bank tellers who were allegedly robbed by Mr. Dennis said they believed he was armed. One believed she saw the barrel of a gun, while another said the note passed during the robbery indicated Mr. Dennis was armed.

Mr. Dennis also told one teller, at TD Bank on West Boylston Street, that there was a bomb outside, court documents said.

Police said Mr. Dennis robbed the People's United Bank at 75 Gold Star Blvd. around 11:30 a.m. Thursday as undercover officers, state troopers and FBI agents were positioned nearby. When he went into the bank, one of the undercover officers noticed that he fit the description provided by some of the victims in the previous robberies.
