Man found guilty of assault; 'Racial attack' resulted in several arrests at Pat's Towing.

WORCESTER -- A former employee of Pat's Service Center and Towing has been found guilty of two counts of assault and battery stemming from what prosecutors have described as a 2009 "racial attack'' on two men of Mexican descent at the Shrewsbury Street business.

Matthew Dusoe, 30, of 189 Grove St., was convicted Friday after a jury trial in Worcester Superior Court. Judge Richard T. Tucker revoked Mr. Dusoe's $500 cash bail and scheduled sentencing for Monday. The jury acquitted Mr. Dusoe on two counts each of kidnapping, assault and battery to intimidate and a civil rights violation with injury.

Mr. Dusoe's brother, Jeremy Dusoe, was sentenced to 1 to 2 years in state prison in April 2012 after pleading guilty to two counts each of kidnapping, assault and battery to intimidate, assault and battery and a civil rights violation in connection with the May 1, 2009, assaults.

Assistant District Attorney Terrence M. Reidy said at the time of Jeremy Dusoe's guilty pleas that the victims, 20-year-old Juan Carlos Murillo, and his 48-year-old father, Pablo Murillo, were subjected to racial slurs as they were being assaulted by Pat's employees after a dispute over the younger Murillo's car having been towed.
