GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Wachusett 68, St. Peter-Marian 39: Senior captain Jacqui Brugliera scored 20 points, junior Cheyenne Jennings knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points, 7 assists and 7 steals, and Shannen El-Qasem scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half to help the top-ranked Mountaineers (15-0) pull away after leading, 32-25, at the half.

Jess Berthiaume scored 11 points and Ali Nalivaika chipped in with 10 for the Guardians (9-6).

Auburn 41, Oxford 34: Brittany Gabrielian scored 18 points to help the Rockets (8-8, 7-8 SWCL) post a road win. Gabrielian sank her fourth 3-pointer late in the game after Oxford pulled to within four points. Lauren Puishys had 13 points and 9 rebounds for the Pirates (3-12, 3-10).

Bancroft 39, Berwick 34: Senior co-captain Olivia Angood-Hardy had 10 points and 11 rebounds and junior Gloria Plange (7 points) sparked a third-quarter rally as visiting Bancroft (4-9, 3-6 EIL) topped Berwick (4-8, 2-7).

Bethany Christian 34, South Lancaster 22: Bethany Christian raced to a 17-10 halftime lead against host South Lancaster, which was led by Michelle Howard with 11 points.

Main South 64, Parker 61: Vuong Diep broke a 61-61 tie with a foul shot, then after a steal Aretha Sullivan sank two more free throws to lift the Cougars to a road victory. Main South (10-3, 6-1) clinched a Central Mass. Tournament berth and moved into a tie atop the Worcester County Athletic Conference with Parker (11-3, 6-1). Jackie Irwin scored 29 for the Panthers. Taniea Burrell scored 17 for Main South.

Quaboag 58, Monument Mountain 45: Samantha McCann scored a career-high 28 points and Olivia Jankins had 11 assists for host Quaboag (12-3) in beating Monument Mountain (10-3), a traditional Berkshire County power. Monument Mountain's Alyssa Nejaine scored 18 points on six 3-pointers.

Worcester Academy 46, Andover Academy 41: Kaitlyn Mathieu, who finished with 22 points, hit a jump shot to put visiting Worcester Academy ahead, 42-41, with less than a minute left in a game that had three lead changes in the last two minutes. Worcester Academy improved to 9-4 and Andover is 8-5.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Bethany Christian 58, South Lancaster 41: Steve Rice and Johnny Norton each scored 18 points to lead Bethany Christian (9-5, 6-2) to a WCAC road win.

SLA is 6-9, 6-5.
