QUEBEC CITY - Good pitching and timely hitting - two things that were mostly missing from the first half of the season - finally came together in Worcester's second-half opener as the Tornadoes topped Quebec, 5-1, last night as the teams began the second half of the Can-Am League season.

Worcester starter Ryan Lobban (6-3) scattered six hits and one run in six innings. Mike MacMillan had four hits while Carlos Sosa knocked in three runs on a pair of doubles.

Worcester scored four runs in a two-out rally in the fourth after MacMillan drove in O'Malley with a single, while Sosa plated Vinny Pennell and MacMillan with a double. Chris Colabello followed with a single to right that Sebastien Boucher had trouble with, allowing Sosa to score and make it 5-0.
