BROCKTON - The up-and-down season of the Tornadoes continued at Campanelli Stadium yesterday, as Worcester split a doubleheader against the Rox.

The Tornadoes got a brilliant performance in the opener from starter Chris Farley, who scattered five hits and one earned run in a complete-game effort as Worcester won, 2-1.

However, the second game was all Brockton as pitching coach and Leominster native John Kelly picked up his first win after he blanked Worcester for five innings while striking out five in a 6-1 win.

The Tornadoes got an RBI single from Jeff LaHair in the first game to take a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Rox tied the game in the bottom of the inning on an RBI groundout by Chris Valencia. That run came moments after Worcester dodged a bullet, as LaHair threw out Palmer Karr at the plate when he tried to score on a single by Jud Thigpen.
