Emily O'Donnell, of Lancaster created a sculpture based on the work of Leonardo DaVinci, and Erin Connor, also of Lancaster, based her sculpture on the work of Edgar Degas for display at Fitchburg Art Museum.

O'Donnell and Connor, grade 6 students at Applewild School in Fitchburg, were part of the "Famous Dogs'' exhibit, showcasing the students' creations of dogs, which represent the work of a famous artist.

Under the direction of art teacher Sara Sanford, and with the help of English teacher Jennifer Caldwell, students research an artist, write a report on the artist, which is also included in the exhibit, and then build the sculpture from paper mache. The exhibit was juried by museum staff.

The Class of 1957 Memorial Scholarship Fund elected to award three, $1,000 scholarships to members of the Clinton High School Class of 2014: Anthony Innamorati, son of Jeff and Jeannie Innamorati; David Notaro, son of Heidi and David Notaro; and Caroline Rauscher, daughter of Mary and John Rauscher.

Springfield College named the following local students to its spring dean's list: Brianna Bufton, of Clinton, and Celsea Colello and Victoria Hinckley, both of Sterling.

Kim Doherty, of Clinton, earned a master's degree in social work from Springfield College.

Devin Doyle, of Lancaster, graduated from the U. S. Air Force basic military training at Lackland Airforce Base, in San Antonio, Texas on May 31. Doyle achieved the top airman award for her squadron of 180 men and women and was one of 66 honor graduates out of the class of 668 airmen.

Zachary Orr, of Clinton, was named to Clarkson University's dean's list for the spring semester. Orr is a freshman majoring in civil engineering.

Brownies from Troops 11146, 30772 and 30855, successfully completed their hiker badge requirements on Rauscher Farm: Victoria Barreto, Sarah Center, Rachel Chetwynd, Ella Chouinard, Kaela Ciarletta, Hana Coppenrath, Rose Dimeco, Laurel Hross, Erika Larson, Julianna Notaro, Ava Repole, Ella Reple, Ani Rydberg, Tahlene Rydberg, Amanda Smith, Grace Turcotte and Esther Vitoriano.

John Mooney, of Sterling, graduated Boston College with a bachelor's degree from the University's Wallace E. Carroll School of Management. Mooney majored in finance and operations management.

Taylor Leaming, of Bolton, graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication studies from James Madison University during the May 10 commencement exercises.

Berlin resident Shannon Barry has been named to Stonehill College's spring dean's list.
