WORCESTER - A Marlboro man facing child sexual assault charges pleaded not guilty yesterday

in Worcester Superior Court and was released on previously posted bail of $20,000 cash.

Jeffrey M. Chaulk, 52, of 280 Elm St., Apt. 9, Marlboro, formerly of Northboro, was arraigned on indictments charging him with four counts of statutory rape, two counts of rape of a child aggravated by age difference, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child and single counts of enticement of a child under 16 and procuring alcohol for a minor.

The sexual assaults are alleged to have occurred from July 2004 through July 2009.

The alleged victim, who was under 21 at the time, told police Nov. 29 she had been sexually abused by Mr. Chaulk as a child. She made the allegations while she was being questioned for allegedly breaking into Mr. Chaulk's home in Northboro that day to get alcohol she said he had left for her.

When police arrived at the home in response to a 911 call from Mr. Chaulk's wife, the woman showed them text messages between herself and Mr. Chaulk. One of the messages said there was beer in the basement refrigerator if his wife wasn't around...
