Nunez homer helps power Tornadoes.

RAMAPO, N.Y. - The Worcester Tornadoes opened a three-game series with the Rockland Boulders by pounding out 11 hits, nine off starter Casey Hodges, in a 6-4 win at Provident Bank Park.

Abraham Nunez led the way for the Tornadoes, going 3 for 5, driving in two runs and giving his team its insurance run with a sixth-inning homer. Alex Trezza and Cameron Monger had two hits apiece.

Worcester spread out its scoring, only getting multiple runs in the third inning when Nick Salotti hit a two-run homer that also scored Trezza.

Each team used five pitchers. Matt McDonald started for Worcester and was charged with all four runs in 4-2/3 innings. He only allowed four hits, but also walked five.
