DOUGLAS - Omer Lamontagne, 86, of Palm Bay, FL formerly of Douglas died Fri. Nov. 23, 2012 after being stricken ill at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary C. (Biros) Lamontagne; a son Richard Lamontagne of Palm Bay, FL; a daughter Lynn Syrek wife of Al Syrek of Evans City, PA; a granddaughter Janel (Somers) Edwards wife of Matthew Edwards; a brother Napoleon (Leroy) Lamontagne of Prescott Valley, AZ; a sister Blanche Aldrich of Manchester, NH and several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a sister, Yvonne Army of Millbury.

Born in Whitinsville on May 12, 1926, he was the son of Napoleon and Delia (Provencher) Lamontagne and lived in Douglas until moving to Florida in 2005. Omer served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS San Diego. He worked in the maintenance dept. at the former Haywood Schuster Woolen Mills and as a carpenter at Guilford's of Maine before his retirement in 1991.
