Overtime FG foils Lancers.



Coast Guard 31, Worcester State 28: Corey Spencer completed 37 of 59 passes for 416 yards and three touchdowns for the Lancers (5-3), but Tyler Henning's 27-yard field goal in overtime gave the visiting Bears (4-3) the win.

DeShawn Taylor's 1-yard TD run gave Worcester State a 28-21 lead with 2:34 left, but Coast Guard tied it on Jon Resch's 5-yard TD run with 33 seconds to play.

A.J. Scerra caught 17 passes for 184 yards for the Lancers, who dominated the game statistically - Worcester State led in first downs (25-14) and total offense (524-406) - but the Bears slowed the pace with a steady ground game (35 carries, 100 yards). Marlboro's Graham Asum set the WSU career kick return record with 1,630 yards.

Bridgewater State 44, Fitchburg State 14: Mike Gentili of Leominster, a Worcester Academy graduate, rushed for 118 yards on 15 carries to lead the visiting Bears (7-1, 4-1 NEFC) over the Falcons (2-6, 1-4).

Luis Feliz of Clinton led Fitchburg State with 84 yards and 13 carries, while Christian Lopez completed 8 of 18 passes for 84 yards, two TDs and three interceptions.

Talib Barksdale and Alex Alcala of Leominster each had 10 tackles for the Falcons.

Castleton 54, Anna Maria 33: Robert Small rushed 29 times for 200 yards, but the AmCats (1-6) lost at Castleton (5-2).

Santino Simone completed 21 of 32 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted three times. He rushed 20 times for 121 yards.

Dom Concepcion caught six passes for 76 yards.

Curry 34, Nichols 24: Andre Rickerson ran for a 2-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and Pat Viencek completed TD passes to David Gonzalez (5 yards) and Joe Lambert (11 yards) in the second quarter to give the Bison (1-7, 1-4 NEFC) a 21-14 halftime lead over the Colonels (4-4, 3-2) in Milton.

But Nichols managed just a 39-yard field goal by Casey Lombardi in the second half while Curry scored three TDs.
